I’ll keep my bio brief and breezy, but if you’d like a little bit more, check out my blog at MakieDoll.com (Models of myself, the woman and the girl.) for deeper insight into my world.

I grew up riding horses and playing make-believe games in the grove of trees next to my house.  Corn fields were endless under open summer skies and there was always plenty of snow in the winter for blizzards, snow-forts and classic Minnesota snow-days.  My family is artistic and creative across the board.  We have writers, singers, artists, publishers, ‘idea guys’ and entrepreneurs.  Needless to say, my move to the Big Apple post high-school (via Utah and Osaka, Japan) was supported and applauded.

I’ve studied theatre, dance, acting, and voice with some of the best.  A few of my favorites include: BYU’s music, dance, theatre program, AMDA’s integrated program, and Penny Templeton’s acting studio.  I’m also a visual artist and graphic designer.  Check out GreatYoungMinds.com for more on my design company and to view my portfolio.  I have designed for CoverGirl, MAX Factor, Disney, the New York Comedy Festival, the People’s Choice Awards and more.

A few extra tidbits… I’m married to fellow actor, artist, businessman, entrepreneur and social media guru, Jason (Caine) Small.  Together we are the proud parents of a chihuahua terrier mix named Radar, or more affectionately called ‘the Little Brown Side’.  I’m also the ’singing lady’ at my church which means I teach music to the little kids.  It is very fun and very exhausting!
