O You Whom I Often and Silently Come

I love this poem.  It resonates so deeply with me – and how fitting it is for this month of Valentine’s!

O you whom I often and silently come where you are that I may be with you,

As I walk by your side or sit near, or remain in the same room with you,

Little you know the subtle electric fire that for your sake is playing within me.

May you experience this subtle electric fire {or enjoy a memory of a time in the past when you have felt this way}!  Walt Whitman’s words are raw & innocent – conveying human emotion.  There is something so vulnerable within us that ties all of humankind together.  We all need love, we all want for love, and most of us LOVE to love!

May you remember to tell your friends you LOVE them, and may you also be brave enough to have courageous conversations with those you often and silently come. :)  Whether it be in friendship, love, admiration or respect.  We often and silently come to those we are drawn to.  Sometimes we fall in love and other times we simply wish to become friends with people we’d like to emulate or hope to learn from.  So, let those you adore (or respect, or think well of) know how you feel!  It will most certainly brighten their day.

With LOVE and admiration,
