“Solomon Grundy” wraps for the summer
Wow – what a great August! The young and talented Mattson Tomlin did it again. This Solomon Grundy character came to life and Mattson gave birth to a film full of color, green screen, amazing locations and underwater photography. He gathered a dedicated and equally motivated crew (Nicole Favale, Michael Oshins, Emily Tomasik – I know I’m missing names!) Carisa Kelly costumed us fabulously in color and style choices fit for each character. Angelica Obrien did wonders with a makeup brush and sponge. And I was ever so pleased to be on set with my fellow cast mates once again: Adam Griffith as Frank, my character, Julie’s, complicated relationship/ex, Christopher Birk as Jimmy, the troubled yet innocent lead (and Julie’s intriguing love interest) with a “problem” called Solomon Grundy – an unpredictable yet sometimes amusing character played by Neville Archambault. We were all pleased to have producer, Henry Fernaine, on set as well!
Take a minute to read Mattson’s latest update on the film here > “Milestones.”
We will be back on set in November to shoot the rest of the film and although us actors are on break for the next few months – there will be much happening in the editing room and on the page as the rest of the film takes shape. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it – I am so privileged to be a part of this film! I’ve never shot on green screen before or done a musical number for film. My favorite day was on location at Swing 46 – an stunning swing club in NYC. We shot an original musical number written and composed by Andrew Fox (another person I hope to continue working through the years.) We had recorded the song a couple days before and here we shot it as I somewhat lip synched to our recording. I’m excited to see how everything comes out!
Enjoy the photos and keep an eye out for more updates and our appearance in film festivals once the long road of post production is completed. First things first – shoot the rest of the film!
Much respect, admiration, and a big high-five to Writer/Director, Mattson Tomlin, our amazing CREW and the CAST of “Solomon Grundy!”

An all-around artist, eclectic songstress & compelling actress.
